Some discussion recently about seals on our fuel filler caps.
I thought I had better inspect the condition of mine.
Err..? I haven’t got any!! I took a photo and as you may see it has a machined angle which just seems to seal metal to metal. Below the angle is a groove which could take a square section rubber or even an O ring type but there would be nothing to compress such a seal against.
There are 3 identical fittings on the boat ( 2 fuel and 1 water) non of them show a sign of ever having a rubber seal on them.
Is this a standard sort of fitting?
