Filler Cap 'O' Ring

The reply which i found very humorous early on was from JFM, and yet his post which didnt actually contain bad language in my opinion was deleted ??

I was shocked when i read the reason for the deleted post, (Inappropriate language) I couldn't imagine it was in the slightest derogatory at all and would have been taken in jest either way?? :ambivalence:

Well to be fair to JFM with my local chandler , I just take the “bit “ in .
99% of the time he stocks it or if not he takes my Mob and sends a txt when it arrives .Gets his catalogue(s) out on the desk .
If I,am in before 11 am with requesting an offending item that’s out of stock —- my afternoon snooze in a nice anchorage is interrupted @ arround 3 pm ish , by his txt saying it’s here I,am open until 6 pm .

Every screw ,bolt , popper , gasket , impeller ,wire connector , clamp , grommet, switch , bulb , service kit etc .
I Just ask him .Its his job !

Well, I can report a successful conclusion to "project 'O' ring'" :). The part recommended by MartynG was an exact match and just about stretched over the filler cap so there was no need to dismantle half the boat after all.

Here's the link to the part (https://www.seabridge-marine.com/O_Ring_for_deck_fills/p2023673_10923690.aspx) and I would suggest that it's a good spare to have on board for the sake of £1.80 (water in your fuel is enough to spoil anyone's day). You could even splash out and buy two spares!

Stelican, the ones that you kindly sent me weren't quite right (they were close) so let me know if you want them back.
