hi all
would the engine filters (primary and secondary ) filter out iron filings which will fall into my diesel tank after i drill a 14mm hole in the filler pipe ? thank you

Indeed they will, but it's of course better to avoid them getting in there in the first place if you can.

Thick grease on the drill will collect a fair bit ..

The best thing is a hoover nozzle.

Strong magnet as close to the job as possible. If you've got an old loudspeaker magnet, drill through the 'doughnut' hole. It will stay in place itself- assuming mild steel of course!

Smart tip that...
and
after that move the magnet to the bowl of the primary filter for a while & collect the filings from there, but no need to say best to catch it first.
