Fiberglass job and keel cosmetics in France?

As we know brexit is looming with its VAT implications. Hence, I am planning to spend the winter in EU territory, as usual on the dry, doing smaller-larger repairs.

Any recommendations for a good boatbuilder in N-France? I need some serious fiberglass work, (twin!) keel drop and grit blasting of the keels. Or should I do the job on the Northern side of the channel?

Ireland also qualifies as EU-territory, but N-France fits my next-year plans better.

interesting take on the brexit debate.

i have been asking about vat in a possible post brexit situation but i cant get any sensible answers. there has been no discussion on the issue at all.

obviously it is a european tax and should we still have vat it will mean that we are still in eu.

i dont think you need to panic too much about your keel repair. there will be no meaningful brexit.

If we revert to the old pre-EU system, any work done outside the UK which has a betterment element is taxable on return. I remember being questioned one time about where I purchased a couple of new looking tyres on my car when clearing customs.

He should probably be ok if If he keeps his keels under the water on his return ..

Allright, N- side of the channel then: any recommendations for a Westerly in Cornwall? Reasonably priced dry storage would be a big plus, thinking about Padstow and its neighbourhood.
