I've just had that dreaded phone call, no not the one that say have you a few minuets to talk. The one that says

Hello, this is the marina here, I'm sorry to tell you but during the storms last night your boat was damaged.

FFS this is the third lot of damage this year, the worst thing is I'm supposed to be going off for a week before I put here away for the winter.

I cant understand how this could happen, I left her 1.5 metres from the pontoon and tied with 24mm warp and she has been pushed on and damaged the bow. That's now the flybridge the rear Hawse pipe and now the bloody bow............. this one may be insurance I absolutely Pi###d off at the moment!

Stroll on tomorrow when I can go and see how bad it is.

Tom, sorry to hear of any damage to a boat, except to Mucky Farter of course.

Hope you get it sorted and maybe Holyhead is too exposed for Littleship.

Thanks Major,

I have to say I have already made the phone call to see if I can get in the basin.

Some serious decisions to make over the winter period, I do like HH but this is the third amount of damage this year.

Good point would be I'll be able to keep an eye on the PD mob!

Very upset over this.

Tom

Hi Tom, very, very sorry about the damage. Your ropes etc where all fine, very securely tied up, don't see what else you can do at HH. On the bright side of course sitting in the mud at Conwy means you don't smack the pontoon, and they are actively putting in a new gate, 30 minutes more time to get in or out, either side of the tide and they say doing some serious dreging.

At PD some motor boat idiot came in and smacked lots of boats, we were horrified.

Hi Tom

Not great news, but hopefully its fairly light. Makes you wonder about HH as a serious marina in anything but the summer months. Thursday night the wind was horrendous over in Trearddur Bay, although its been better today.

Martyn

Hi sorry to hear about the damage hope it’s not too bad .It was gusting NWly 65kts plus Holyhead Bay last night ,pretty grim really . A lot of boats on the HH Marina must have been roughed up.
The Marina has the advantage of 24 hr/365 days access but no protective breakwater which is a shame - a decent N Ely gale will be interesting there

And we need a bit of quality there.

But I am sure they will still take you.

We've noticed, that where as at other marinas, theres a fair amount of staff about and a night watchman looking after things, with spare ropes available, if a boat breaks loose.

At Hollyhead, I've never seen a soul.

It's looks like the Benny/Merry Pech Promnades owners club at the Mo!

Specially in the Outer basin.
Little Ship would be safe and sound in the inner dock that's for sure.
About the Straits tommorow (as you know) but it looks like there could be wind about.
May get up to Holyhead Sunday.
Depends on the quality of the Pupils.
No-- not me eyesight-- the peeps doing the training stuff!

Flippen Eck Bud-- damage to L Ship is not on.
I do appreciate the time work an effort You have put into Her.
Even though I stain the deck from time to time.
Not 'stain' as in varnish etc Folks.
I have been known to tarnish the decks with 'surplus intake' in the past /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But then again it saves on Caulking /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Glad to see You are still hoping to venture out to the IOM etc next week.

Little Ship can do it.
Not sure about the Skipper and Crew though.

Sorry to hear your news Tom and hope it's easy to fix. At least you know the culprit of your boat's latest damage, unlike me!

Just thought! Isn't a certain MF in Conwy now? Hmmm!

Probably, but cant see yer pic. We did find a horizontal telegraph pole thingy quite useful for dragging us through the mud, once anchor attached.

Mucky farter seems to be widening her reputuar, in the past, she just farted and belched. Now she seems to be attacking things made out of bits of wood. I'll have to ave a word. Mean while, my bent anchor..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Right! That's it! Cranse irons to the fore and all hands aft, stand by to ram! That's if MF will sit still long enough for us to complete the manoeuvre of course! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

MF is completely evil, she dont have no manners. But is very quick whited. I suspect any devilish maneuver would be easily recognised, And Mucky Farter would take action against it. Maybe surounded you by effluant or smoke.
