Ferries to oostende for next weekend.

Dunkirk

If you're going to drive (or even if you are going to rely on the train) let me recommend Norfolk Lines and their excellent service from Dover - Dunkirk. I doubt you'll beat it for price and Oostende is only 25 miles up the (rather derelict) coast from there.

No connection with them at all but we use their service regularly when travelling to Holland as they are SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than any of the other ferries further north.

Doug, parking along the seafront is possible. It can't have been much money, as my mate Norm put his camper there for 3 days, and he is a cheapskate on non-alcoholic purchases.

Is there any public transport available from Dunkirk to Oostende anyone know? I may need this for August, thanks for the heads up on the Ramsgate ferry i was relying on that for a crew change, didnt occur to me that they didnt do foot passengers, how strange?

TER-SNCF seem to go for Dunkirk change at Lille and change again at Brussels. 4 hours! Didn't even look at cost.

Eurostar to Brussels includes free trains on to any station in Belgium.

E20 for a bus from Charleroi airport.

Be cheaper for one person to come by car and the other person to drive it back again.

I think you are right! I was rather hoping HID would drive to Ramsgate with kids, get on ferry leaving car in car park, arrive in Oostende, stroll around to the boat and the crew return on said ferry and drive my car home from Ramsgate and all at foot passenger rates!
