Fender strip for a tender - what to do with the corners

I'm thinking of attaching this stuff to Avocet's tender before I do any more damage!

I've e-mailed the seller and asked what's the tightest bend that it will go round, but I'm pretty certain that at the bow and each corner of the transom, the fibreglass is only an inch or so radius and i doubt it will go round that. Does anyone sell small rubber "corners"?

Mmmmmm, classy! Thanks for that, I actually saw that photo in a search, and would love to do it, but the tender has a moulded "deck" to it so the gunwhales are very thick (about 3" or so). There's no "edge" I can clip a slotted cylindrical section over, so I need something that will attach to a vertical surface.

I fitted mini corner fenders to each corner, through bolted. Very effective. Also 4 smallest double ended fenders along each side and a bow fender. On an 8' dinghy, lashed to eyes screwed to wooden gunwhale. If I would it again I would use 5 fenders along each side. Not cheap but has lasted over 12 years. Sorry, no photo.

I put waterpipe down the sides and soft plastic pipe (quite loosely) on the corners where most of the aggro occurs. sorry the pic isn't too clear, but the soft pipe is pretty well unsupported and makes a nice flexible bumper. The blue pipe is through- bolted to the hull just below the original lip and the soft pipe fits over it at the join.

Where do they put the tenders needed to get out to the tenders?:ambivalence:

I've just put that sort of fendering on my dinghy,though it might be slightly smaller section.

Had no trouble fixing round the quarters or at the bow which is a sharper angle, though the little web at the top over the gunnel needs small darts cut into it with a stanley knife for a neat fit.

Starting at the outboard pad and without the blue insert, fix white section with a screw through a washer at no more than 250 mm centers with a screw just before and after a radius keeping tension on the plastic extrusion all the way.you might want to start and end with 2 screws closer together.

Fitting the blue insert to cover the screw heads is easily done by looping fishing line or thin wire under and as you pull the line and push blue tube in with your thumb, the line opens up the section to accept the blue tube, care is needed at the corners, and it may be necessary to shave of some of the white plastic to open the gap to accept the insert.

I finished of with a screw through the blue tube near the ends, these screw heads show but it stops the insert coming out.

Excellent! thanks, that's good to know. I shall have a go at precisely that, I think.
