Hello YBW Forums,

I am a BSc Products Design student studying at Bournemouth University and I am currently undergoing my final year project. The aim of my project is to design and prototype a new fender storage product for sailing yachts and motor/power yachts.

I am currently in the research stage of my project and I'm trying to get as many different opinions from individuals who are involved in the marine sector. Your input will be highly appreciated and valued as it will aid me in designing a more efficient and successful product solution.

If you are interested in helping please click the link below and complete the questionnaire which I created using surveymonkey.com. It is a short 10 question questionnaire and it should take no more than five minutes of your time. As well as providing me with an insight into the marine market it will also provide you with the opportunity to let me know what you would like to see in a product solution.

The results of the survey will be anonymous and will be used to aid me in the design process of my project. By completing the questionnaire you are providing me with your consent to use the results throughout my final year project.

The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R3NFH3S

Thank you for your time.

Yours Sincerely

William Binns

Around here fenders are stored in purpose built cages of stainless steel built into the inside of the bow rail where it extends aft from the bow along the front deck. This is OK for when voyaging but I think mostpeople take them inside to reduce UV damage when the boat is moored. good luck olewill
