I've got an assortment of used fenders (mostly picked up on the beach over the last few winters) some down right filthy some with cuts and gouges.
What's the best stuff to clean them ?and are they repairable ?
Cheers.
Maurice.

I have trid to 'mend' cuts and small holes in fenders without success by melting and various glues. I am sure that 2 part poly and a pvc patch would work but they are so cheap to buy it hardly seems worth it!

It isn't practicable to repair punctured fenders. For cleaning, see the thread of three weeks ago at http://www.ybw.com/cgi-bin/forums/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=pbo&Number=337602.

If you ever venture over the border into Hampshire, the barge on the Itchen at Bursledon has hundreds of "dirty but new" fenders (or did last time I looked) at cheaper-than-boat-show prices. All they need is inflating. Not as cheap as picking them up off the beach, which is where most of mine came from, but people seem to tie them on better these days, so I find myself buying them!
