I have one of those fenders with boarding rungs which has been useful in various situations ( including fending and boarding !) It needs blowing up but I cant find the right tool for the valve. Pictures suggest that something like the majoni tool might work. The hole is about 3mm across and seems to be threaded and there is a 'valve pin' which I guess has to be depressed by the tool to allow air to be pumped.
Can anyone confirm the tool that will inflate these 'step fenders' ?

There are dedicated adaptors. I use Majoni fenders so have their tool.

It screws into the fender and has a tire type fitting to take a pump or compressor.

Inflate to 0.2 bar, 2.9 psi.

Compass Marine are great for advice or fittings and fenders.

I don't think the Majoni fenders have a pin in the middle and I think the adaptor is just a hollow tube. I think you can inflate Majoni fenders by just pressing the air pump nozzle against the fender so it doesn't sound quite the same as yours.

Can't help with that specific fender but i bought a set of (I think there were four) adapters in a packet from a chandlers years ago and so far i have always managed to inflate a range of fenders using either one of those or by just pushing the pump end hard against the fender over the valve hole.

I have one as well and last year asked at the chandlery how to blow it up. I was advised to press the outlet from any inflator against the hole and allow it to fill. They suggested a garage air line, but I just tried a 12 volt car tyre inflator and a bicycle track pump (looks a bit like a stirrup pump.) Both worked to the point where I had to find out how to release some air. (Press in the stem in the middle of the hole in fact.)

By the way, I don't know about yours, but mine smells foul. When it was removed from the boat, the strange smell in the locker decreased. And developed in the shed where I was keeping the step. And when I released the air from the fender/step I had no doubt that it is actually the plastic that smells.
