Pretty sure it was these Fastfender | Boat fender hangers | Fender hooks for attaching boat fenders
I bought some on the reccomendation and SWMBO loves them.
Not seen JFM around these pastures for a while - hope all is OK

I like the clips , swmbo gets them as they tend to come off when we flip the fenders on board.

I had no idea what a sad loss.
He was a font of knowledge both boat and legal - it is a much poorer place without him.
Glad to hear he is in rude health.
