Fenda Sox - what a malarkey

As someone who polishes alot of different boats, I would say most definitely to fit fendasox. I have seen severe crazing that is verging on needing serious gelcoat repairs needed because of the constant rubbing action.

...of the fenders !

The key is in keeping your fenders clean, rinsing with fresh water occasionally and yearly sticking the sox in the washer.

For the past couple of years we have been using bungie cord to tie up the fenders and it is working great. The theory is that when the boat is putting pressure on the fenders and with any rocking motion of the boat, this is when the severe damage can occur. With the bungie cord in place, the fenders squeeze, but the bungie cord stretches so that there is no movement of the fender. Works great and we now have the ultra fast railing clips (the ones from the SBS) so adjusting height is a breeze and no tying required.
