Hi All,

Can anyone tell me anything about the Felixstowe Regatta at the end of May. How many boats participate and is it a good event? We have some interest for RIB charter for the event and so I'm doing some homework.

It is one of the Sail East IRC series races , along with Ramsgate week, the Crouch regatta and Dabchicks. It is fairly serious racing attracting most of the IRC fleets from all those areas and divides the fleet into, around 4ish IRC categories. Most of the racing happens just outside the harbour, IIRC, to the south of the shipping route.

My guess woud be around 100 boats - the website would probably tell you.

Dont know but it used to be the Mercator Race w/e until the competetors wernt allowed to go by their Mums /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
had to be tucked-up in bed @ home see /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The website isn't terribly helpful unless I'm missing a trick. It seems that only 4 boats are registered so far.

I tell you what if the winds like this it could be a lot of fun out on a RIB!

Cheers.... Jonathan
