I was in B&Q and saw a tool made by Bosch that appears to be a copy of the Fein Multimaster, but less than two thirds the price. Has anyone tried one? Does it accept Fein blades?

I bought the Bosch for a few month ago. It works as good as the FEIN (used to borrow the FEIN of a friend...).
The Bosch blades work with the Fein, but not the other way around.
The trouble with the old Fine was that the blades became loose all the time. Bosch uses pins which are holding the blade in place. Thats the reason that Fein blades are not working in the Bosch.
The Fein is build for professionals and will last longer then Bosch, but I need it only from time to time.
Most of my sailing friends have a Fein...Now I dont have to borrow the FEIN anymore....

Only thing to watch is the rating, Bosch is DIY and while few owners will use it enough each year to need a highter rating what does catch people is that the bearings ae only rated for 20min use in any hour. After 20min you are suposed to put it down for 40min to cool off otherwise the bearing dousings have a habit of melting. I know I have been cought with sanders before, I may only use them once a month but that might be for 8 hours solid and therefore need an industrial rating.

Our FEIN is about 6 years old, and is used in an industrial setting. I dont think that the BOSCH would last as long.
However the diamond disc on a FEIN is £ 50 , and thats an extra. We use about 3 a year.

I have had bearings fail on b&Q pro series grinders. B&Q were brillient in replacing new for old, even after 18months old.

Not ideal, I know, but good to know that they will support you.

used it today to cut out a letterbox on a door. V easy. Will definately be useful on the boat for DIY, noting the 20 min comment above (however manul doesn't mention that).
