Feeling a bit smug.

Checked the engines yesterday and the Stb compartment was full of water. So pumped it out wondering if itmay be rsin water.

This morning full of water again. Not good. Did a wuick look about to find the FE pump is piffing water out.

Phoned French Marine. They have a pump shaft in stock. Quick dash along the POrwell to to Levengton and collect it. Up to Ipswich. Strip pump out and walk round the corner to Anglia Bearings. But new hearings and seal. But the seal has a mikd steel spring. French Marine advised I can use an O ring instead.

Pump back together and working in three hours.

I was much helped by Harbour Marine ?who let me use their vice to strip out the worn pump.

ss spring is the correct spec spring the O ring sounds a good idea though

Our local bearing shop doesn't stock seals with stainless steel springs, it takes them until the next morning to get them delivered!

Which is why I was advised to use an O ring.
