hi

i'm going to look at some Sunseeker Mexico boats over the next week. the ones i have singled out are either diesel 200bhp or single engine volvo petrol

i'm looking for a quick boat for use on the south coast of cornwall, around the carrick roads and if the weather suits into the channel. maybe the odd passage round cape cornwall and to the north coast - weather depending of course

i'd like to use it for day trips, fishing, boarding, kitesurfing launch, general sports, in winds up to around 4-5 on occasion - for the kiting

does anyone have any experience of this boat outside of a flat lake or estuary? i;m not looking for offshore cruising, but a boat that will be ok should i want to explore a bit more of cornwall

i'll be buying the boat cash subject to survey and sea trial from a broker

what are your thoughts on this?

Sit tight dom_moore. It may take a couple of days, but I'm sure you'll get a response from someone sooner or later.

Re. further info - for some reason ( /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif ) it seems to help if you put a bit more information in your bio.

ty for the tip off there carlton - profile updated - should've got that sorted first thing tbh as i know i like to read peoples profiles

meanwhile, if anyone else stumbles over this thread, here's a few facts about meself if ye can stand it -

age 29, live in newquay cornwall. work from home as a freelance writer for adrenaline sports

furtherst point away from land kitesurfing- 1/2mile
furthest point surfing (paddle surfing) - 8 miles plus???> that was a boat drop though, out in the south pacific. wastnt too bad till the boat buggered off and left us...

wanting to get into boats for a new direction and challenge to absorb. did some sailing (crew yacht deliveries) up and down the malaka straits and have got some shorebased training in down here in cornwall

i know this isnt the way to do it but money burning hole in my pocket and looking to get a boat by end of jan latest!

Try to be patient in your purchase - you probably won't get on the water too often until about March or April anyways. It's difficult once the "gotta buy a boat" bug gets under your skin !

It's easy for me to spend your cash for you, but might you be better going a little bigger than 24 foot ?

I guess you missed the previous thread /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

23-27ft sportsboat that can handle a bit of sea?

............where I seemed to end up "persuading" (??) Dom to go smaller LOL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif........... C'est la vie!!

Ah - didn't miss the thread, but certainly missed the fact that it was the same poster. (It's the drink, gov....)

Yes - if he's towing, 24' should be about the limit.
