Suggestions please.... I have just had a nice spangly new hood fitted, on visiting last night noticed the whole top section of roof covered in bird Sh**- not best pleased, as this stuff stains and makes newly polished boaty grimey!

What, if any solutions do you lot suggest- Plastic bags, cds on a string, wire the roof to the mains? whats more, they only seem to taret my boat- are they territorial or did I upset them last season by not feeding them enough bread and biccies?

Any suggestions that actually work most welcome, as Id like to preserve the hood if possible.

Thanks Dog.

CD's do work quite well, however a foolproof method, is shoot one or more and hang there body(s) in a prominent position onboard, that will stop them for sure. No, I'm not joking!

you can buy an outline of a hawk hovering . they are attched to sticks and you can lash it to a prominent part of the boat. It scares the birds away. this was told me by a fisherman, so totally reliable information.

Or, to take it one step further, try a <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ybw.com/cgi-bin/forums/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=mby&Number=286815&Search=true&Forum=mby&Words=robop&Match=Or&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=6months&Main=286815>Robotic Bird of Prey</A>. Absolutely true, in spite of scepticism expressed at the time.

Blow them up!

Is'nt there something you can feed them which reacts with their internal juices causing them to explode? I seem to remember someone telling me about that.

Re: Blow them up!

Certainly is, calcium chloride (I think, we used to use it when potholing, for lamps) I'm not now sure of the material???, produces aceteleyne gas, when in contact with water. Alka-seltzers have a similar effect and they will swallow those without a bread wrapping!
