Supper tonight set me thinking... what food stuffs have people found when cruising that you have been able to combine in creative ways?

Moroccans love mint tea so mint is cheap and plentiful on every street corner (1 dirham per bunch or 8p) and they eat lamb by the truck load - a pile of lamb steaks and mint sauce for supper with lovely fluffy red skinned potatoes, steamed carrots and courgettes (all local produce)

Beautiful ripe red tomatoes at 1€ a kilo, seasoned and roasted slowly with garlic; onions and basil stalks (basil given for free at market stalls). Then simmered in a little veg stock and blended, add a splotch of yoghurt to serve. Delicious, healthy soup and so ridiculously cheap.

We need a food forum!

Currently plenty of blackberries in the hedgerows so jam making is high on the agenda, local scallops are simply divine too. Haven't thought of a way to combine those two yet!

You've obviously never heard of blackberry & scallop curry :D queenies are best :D

Freshly picked oranges at 40 cents a Kilo so we have a large glass of natures sunshine every morning :D

Always loved the sardines in Portugal, almost the size of herrings, just grilled with sea salt, vino verde wine and salad, yummy!
