After nervously connecting my new batteries, leads, Ctek battery management and solar panels today I was disappointed to find there was a problem.. Thankfully it didn't involve any smoke or flames, just no power to any circuits apart from solar. After some head scratching and copious probes with a test lamp it transpires that the -ve isolator was not continuous when in the on position. After turning it on and off a few times it did work but dont want to reply on it. Are these serviceable at all or just replace? I do have some cheapo looking ones but rather like these old ones if they work.

If you want to keep it, can you take it apart and clean up the contacts with little abrasive? If not, you might be able to spray in some aerosol contact cleaner and work it on and off a few times.

If you have isolators in the positives in the new set up yopu can do away with the standard negative one. Just remove and join the cable with a post connector.
Yes it seems this was an unnecessary switch fitted by Beneteau but I kind of just see it as another way of isolating the power ... now, what to cover the hole with

Fill the hole with another switch, connected to the load terminals of the domestic and engine circuits. A useful emergency switch in the event of a flat engine battery or a failed battery.

I currently have, black (faulty) -ve isolator, engine +ve isolator, house +ve isolator and windlass +ve isolator.

Paul, do you mean replace the -ve isolator with a switch that would connect house and starter circuits?
