Father\'s Day

Got home last night so the Children could surprise me!

18yo son is still in bed - no surprise there then!
16yo son produced had made card with a picture of a golf club and ball - I don't play golf but it appears that's what all Father's Day cards have on them!
14yo son said 'its a nasty American marketing ploy to make you spend money on unnecessary trash' and gave me a hug
9yo son agreed with 14yo brother, ran away at the offer of a hug and is currently preparing lunch!

What about you and yours?

Re: Father\'s Day

Mine's been great, a set of Sabatier knives for the kitchen(should I get out more?), and a session in the garden weeding and planting out.

Daughter has tidied some of the house, son tried to help but got tired of an earwigging from sister so retreated to bedroom- so we shan't see him again until about this time next year.

Now I'm just waiting for my Sunday lunch! I haven't been called much to supervise yet, so I'm hopeful

Re: Father\'s Day

Two cards, two phone calls (one from Lanzarote) from daughters.

Three children so phone about to ring...........(perhaps). He usually remembers now he is a father (funny that).

Sunny day on the Blackwater - who needs presents /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Father\'s Day

We had an open day at the sailing club so spent it shoreside - what a cracker. Stopped off to pick up kids from in laws on way home and went to pub for some food. When we finally got home I became recipient of two (not one, two) pairs of cufflinks.

Re: Father\'s Day

One of those 'how to be a parent' moments for me....

After staying up far too late Sat night watching a film, I was somewhat disconcerted to be woken far too early Sun morning by the kids walking into our room.... carrying a tray with heated croissants, coffee and a big bar of choccy!

One of life's little personal challenges..... try being grumpy when they do that!!!!!

Re: Father\'s Day

I awoke at 04:20 French time to drive to the other end of the Le-Mans race circuit to watch to cars coming by whilst the sun came up.
My youngest daughter was with me and gave me a 1kg bar of chocolate and 4 bottles of Duval before we left. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
