Fastnet 34

Not an owner, but used to sail one quite a lot (called Sea Nymph) good solid boat with a reasonable turn of speed, but not a total racing sleigh. making a sternboard could be interesting, but could be done. I liked the external design much more than the internal!

Hi Talbot, externally she looks like an old Oyster very beamy and with a great comfortable ride. Brought her round from Portsmouth in the top end of a F7 and she handled brilliantly. You are right about speed, she is heavy, but thats how I like them, built for comfort!!. Mind you 7knts under Jib alone is not sluggish. My understanding is that there are a few different layouts, but for 34 ft I think she is perfect. She is going to be based in Southsea so if you ever fancy a trip on a mono, don't be shy. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

IIRC I managed 11.4 kts on one occasion. If I am about next year, may take you up (I like to be reminded of all the catamaran advantages!) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Nice boat but probably the wettest I ever sailed on. Water sluices up those very round topsides and is carefully designed to fall exactly onto the helmsman at the wheel. I sailed my friend's across Irish Sea in F6 and have rarely been so wet.
