Fastfind 220 - I'm confused!

I have just bought a Fastfind 220.

The manual suggests I press the "test" button for a few seconds and some lights will flash. Mine does nothing!
Is there something else I should do? I asume I only remove the transparent cap in an emergency

I'm a bit scared of it!

Yes you press and hold test hard until you should see a flash and let go. Then on a new PLB after a few seconds it should flash three times to show full battery. No need to remove cap. No flashes = faulty.

I don't have a Fastfind 220 , but there is something seriously wrong with the manual if you are that unclear about how it should work. I'll have a look if I can find it online.

I have the same unit, which I wanted to test when I bought it. I followed the manual, which was reasonably clear, and the lights did what the manual said they would do.

Only two possibilities - the OP is a numpty who can't press a button properly, or the unit is faulty (probably flat battery). I'll let him decide which is most likely

I would take it back to the shop.
