Point of history. A few years ago Peter Blake and Robin K-J sailed a huge cat non-stop around the world in 76 days. The other day this was reduced by a Frenchman to 60-something. These are pure sailing vessels of course, but has ANY boat gone faster non-stop around the world? Many would be capable of it -- nuclear-powered battleships, etc -- but have they done it? Conventional naval ships would have to stop to bunker. Few merchant ships would have the range. These record-breakers voyaged about as fast as the old liners I voyaged in to and from NZ years ago, which stopped several times to refuel. In short, has any ship of any sort been around the world non-stop faster than the Frenchman the other day?
PS I don't think I'm lining up to try and beat it!
