Re: Fareham wreck

That little boat I suspect was deliberately abandoned by a marina that I think I identified as having deliberately abandoned a dory earlier in the year & having informed the Queens Harbour Master about it he did something about it on that occasion or at least someone did.(I believe this to be an entirely irresponsible selfish act to just abandon yacht/boats just because the owners no longer pay the mooring fees & become a liability).

This is appalling. Can you substantiate this? I'm sure the owners and insurers of any boats damaged by drifting wrecks would be keen to know.
Southern Water has a lot of problems with sewage in very heavy rain conditions, I imagine they are prioritising keeping it out of people's houses (with only limited success) over Fareham Creek.

I am 99% certain that I saw the dory that I mentioned earlier moored at the marina I mentioned but am not so sure about the little yacht now.A friend told me it had been bought by two young men at port Solent & then abandoned when they could not find a mooring. That seems a bit implausible to me but I do not know the truth.
I am pretty sure that it was not moored to any of the independent tidal moorings as far down as the electricity pylons but it could have been tucked away on one of the marina births.
A few years ago there was a 16/18' fiber glass speed boat suddenly appeared at the public hard with a for sale sign on it.Simultaneously someone moored one of the big wooden dockyard pontoons just off the little beach that I love, the one with the triple si designated on it.Almost immediately that little speed boat was secured to it.A couple of days later the wooden pontoon seemed to have come down on it & crushed it.
I was amazed a couple of days later to see a couple of workmen in a little motor boat with the name of a boatyard concern emblazoned on the side casually unmoor that dockyard pontoon & casually remoor it about thirty yards further on down the creek. The wreck of that little speed boat was left behind where it remains as far as I know.
I did not take photo's or finger prints but I will happily swear on a stack of Bibles that is the truth.I am sure someone must know who that little boat belongs to & the name is "foam follower" should anybody be so concerned......
