Well, after 10 years, I have finally purchased a newish boat and put Penpal up for sale with James Dickens in Hythe. I emptied her of all our belongings last week and could not believe how much we had on her! Too much for the newish boat, although I think I kept too much on board, after all most of the stuff never got used.

It will be a wrench as the old boats are built like bricks! So if anyone wants a well maintained Freeman with 2005 engines, speak to James.

I guess I will have to change user name.

SKILSO

I purchased a 1995 Skilso 975 Arctic. Very spacious and easy to get on and off. Built in Norway by a family firm that has been building boats since 1919. I am amazed though with new boats how little space there is to work on the hidden things.

Lack of space?

We went from aft cabin to sedan (Nimbus 345) and found the loss of interior space a big problem.
Your old Freeman was 9.8m x 3.5m and all of it was accommodation.
Your Skilso, and I agree it is a very nice boat and very similar in concept to the Nimbus, is 9.8m less 2m of cockpit and bathing platform.
I hope it works for you.
We are now back to an aft cabin boat.
