3M Finesse Polishing Compound With Wool Pad
3M Hard Carnauba Wax Hand Applied

Can see my face in the Gel Coat after treatment

Hi
I've just done all our top sides with 3m Polish, and then the falicia wax, used both with wool pads on machine, I know not text book, but like always have had brilliant results that seem to last till the later part of the season, I am very nervouse however of using too coarse a polish hence why I just do polishing compound then wax,
May arms are killing me now, but as they say, no pain no gain :-)

Quote from 3mdirect.co.uk regarding 3m finesse. Blimey. Health and safety must be wetting their little panties.

I have just done mine, I used farecla g6 rapid and a lambswool head on a machine set at approx 800rpm, so much easier than the foam heads and the rapid range is already mixed with water. Results are outstanding!! Waxed after with autoglym super resin polish.

I can only say what works for me.
G3 for heavy oxidatlon, G10 for a fine finish using a white sponge mop.

G3 is a pretty powerful product so I'd take care with it, G10 is a finishing product and far less abrasive and thus safer for the novice to use on a boat - may take longer but safer.

AutoGlym Super Resin Polish is not a product I'd recommend - its chalky and dusty, which will be a nightmare on any hull other than white, but its durability is low - a matter of weeks. If you do want to use this car product on your boat and like what is an old hat product, and there are many far easier to use car products let alone 'formulated for the job' marine-specific product which will give greater shine and durability, then add their Extra Gloss Protection on top which will give a significantly longer life. However, using a single step finishing/protective coat marine product will save you a heck of a lot of time and enable you to still use your arms afterwards...

what finish product do you recomend

One made specifically for boats, just look round the website you buy your other boating supplies from or do a Google search on 'boat wax'.
