Looking for somewhere away from the Cowes week frenzy, I crept into Owers lake in the dark as a mini night navex, anchored and had a quiet night if you ignore the 60Hz hum, can be quite picturesque if you look away from the power station, woke up to see where I was only to find at least one forumite had beaten me to it! A real tightwad sailor`s place! The local moorings have gone now the power station is closed but the channel is still lit and even has leading lights, was sheltered from the westerly wind and plenty of water at LW and seemed reasonably soft mud from what came up with the anchor.
