I guess some of us (moi) didn't quite manage to pull off The Great Trip this year. A winter of detailed planning beckons. Where will you be going next year?

Never made it to Ireland again, a string of lows at the end of July and a regular crew who declared he did not want to stand a night watch! (After discussing different routines).

My fantasy sail would be the baltic, then Ireland/W Scotland, then round Ireland/Britian or to plan for the AZAB. All not do able: work commitments, young family etc, I guess that is why it is fantasy, but I will be going out for a sail around the bay this afternoon.

Hopefully, though SWMBO and the daughters will make it aboard next year for a family sailing holiday, lots of bays, anchoring and beaches and may be I can take the boat to S Brittany first and I might even have a go at doing it singlehanded.

i guess there are top ranking and low grade fantasies...

one day I will escape the irish sea (too big / windy / rough) - fantasies of increasing quality (and vagueness) include west of jura, harris, faroes and lofoten - basically, cold places that are too far away with notably bad weather.

very likely then.

Fantasy? Well one that is nearly achievable is the Lofotens (boat currently in Norway). But a longer/wilder dream is that of sailing in to Australia through Fremantle. Then the Bay of Sails in New Zealand.

Or being able to afford a tin of varnish for my brightwork.
