I am trying to find a fanbelt for my Yanmar 4LHA-HTP I presume that I don't need to buy one from a Yanmar dealer I assume that any branbd the rigfht size will do. Force 4 and Halfords do not stock fanbelts. Is there anywhere I can pick up a belt today?

Yes the previous owner left a ton of spares but I think he has bought the wrong size. I have two belts one new and one old both the same brand but with the alternator floppy I still can’t get the new belt over the pulley. I need a slightly longer belt. The alternator has lots of movement so even if the new belt was one or two inches longer I could still tension it.

Thanks I will give mascarparts a try.

As I learned on my Sea Start course, you'll usually find the dimensions printed on the old belt (circumference and width) which makes it easy to source a spare.

MarinePower (Boatfolk) at Swanwick have a huge inventory of Yanmar OEM parts if you're stuck.
