Famous for 15 minutes

For Sale ?

I don’t want to upset the owners of this great forum by naming names, and I’m not one to brag, but I do want to bring to the attention of anyone who knows me on here that my boat is featured in a sailing magazine.

If you scan the magazine rack at your local newsagent and see a used boat test of a Cheverton Caravell it’s yours truly and family!

I must admit I was surprised and flattered to have been asked to take part. I never expected to own a boat that would be deemed interesting to the sailing press. I ended up with a bit more of a restoration / refit job than I was expecting when I bourght Paean but I have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Seeing it in print does bring another dimension to the time / work / money expended.

Right, got that off my chest, now off to thinking of something informative, witty or just downright insightful to write on the other threads 

So are you now going to become some pain in the ass diva, demanding your own personal shower in the marine facilities and red carpet to your pontoon finger which you refuse to share ?

Don't most people sing the praises of the boat they own when featured in these magazine articles, saying how amazingly it rides the seas , how spacious it is down below , and then when you get to the for sale section they have a massive advert for the boat with an over inflated price as its "famous" but really they are desperate to get rid of it ?

Pixie has been on the cover of YM 3 times, had a feature about her, and all about her once, but been in articles about cruising Scotland in PBO and YM

Trump, trump, trump :D

Yes, but that is beaten by my Flush. A front cover set of PBO, Sailing Today, Sail Magazine and Yachting World :p

Would be a Royal Flush but Mr Beeson hasn't confirmed the boat test we were doing this summer. Something about not being able to find a photographer I think.;);)

Has Pixie no sense of decency, flaunting herself everywhere?

Looks like I opened a can of worms here.

Will go quietly to my room.

And NO Paean is NOT for sale. Thanks for asking.

That occurred to me too! :)

Lovely looking boat too.

Kilter's been in the mags a few times mostly prior to us owning her!

Thank you.

After 20 years building a family and a business, I decided that it was time to take up sailing again.

I wanted to buy a Mirror Dinghy and ended up with the biggrest row of our married life. NO was the firm answer to my request.

What I did not know was that her idea was to get a small boat on a local marina. Perhaps the family could then all be involved.....?

We went to the boat show and looked at the new boats, all beyond our means. Then looking at ebay I ound a 20 foot bilge keeler on a swinging mororing. She found Paean, long keel and available from Portland. We went and took a look, We called Swanwick who said they could find us a berth.... the rest is history.....

Must admit its taken more time and money than I expected, but have enjoyed every min :)

Our empty mooring (we were away at the time it was taken) featured in a photo on this forum a week or so ago.

Does this count?
