Family boat advice please

Forget the trailer, never used the one that came with our Legend 240. You want a Hunter Ranger 245. Just outside the budget at £22-25k in the ybw brokerage section but cracking little boat for your family. Stiff, very good packaging below, space is used very cleverly. Much better than a trailer sailer around that size. We have moved on to a 31ft Hanse now but wish we had started with something like the 245.

From bitter experience...ask small trailer sailor owners how they antifoul theirs. Can't stand on its keel/centerboard unless a small bilge keeler, very difficult to find suitable cradles in boatyards to support the whole hull weight, painting on the trailer is a nightmare. Don't go there!

Once every 10 years, if at all.

Weed doesn't grow out of water.

Antifoul?

Boot top and waterline on the trailer... keel and rest of hull on hoist at cheap in-land boat yard. Takes about a litre. Hoist for day £30.

Ask a keel boat owner how much they spend / pay to lift, store and antifoul / re launch!

Many thanks to all of you for your replies and advice.
I stand corrected on the cornish shrimper and will take a closer look. I will be paying close attention to any rigging issues as my nippers are unlikely to be fascinated by me struggling with kit for much longer than a minute or two (unless I drop the mast on my head). I will probably look for a friendly chichester region sailing club and at boats you can beach (as the kids love any prospect of hitting the beach (intentional or unintentional....).
Thanks again
