Falmouth Haven

How much are they charging to anchor between the haven and Pendennis now.

Good question, I tried to find this but it does not seem to be on the internet.

Phoned them up, it is £2 per m per day, with 7 days for the cost of 5 (not in July and August). For this you get the use of showers.
I assume (but don't know) that basic harbour dues are less if you are nabbed anchoring elsewhere in their jurisdiction.

The Yacht Haven started life as a visitors, seasonal, low cost, limited facilities alternative to mainstream marinas. As the OP pointed out, it now looks like the most expensive option in the port. Generally, their charges have roughly doubled over the last 10 years, though the anchorage cost rises have been less and more in line with inflation.

I use St Mawes and spend the savings in the pub

I stopped anchoring after being woken up at 4.00 am and asked to move to facilitate ship movement, nothing happened till mid morning, after that I started to use Port Pendennis marina which I found infinitely better than the haven.

It seems crazy to be charging for anchoring, though if they do provide a decent tender landing and facilities ashore then I suppose you are getting something for your money. (I don't know if they do, as I've not been there) Perhaps a landing fee or something similar would be a "nicer" way to do it though.

On the other hand though if they are charging "proper" money then people will expect a "proper" service compared to if they were paying something like £5 to use a buoy.
A slightly different example is paying around £25pn in a marina in Plymouth seemed good enough value, but the slightly higher charge in Newlyn for their more spartan facilities stung a bit. Didn't have much choice though!

When I used to use it you got a landing place and use of the showers and the laundry washing machine wether you wanted them or not.

Update: Falmouth Haven is now charging Harbour Dues instead of anchorage fees.
Rate is now £10 for vessels less than 12 metres and £15 for vessels over 12m but under 50GT
For regular visitors also possible to pay an annual fee of £10 per metre
