fake eberspacher spares

Ebay is flooded with adds for pumps, fan motors,fan housings etc. all at very low prices.
The adds claim that the parts fit eberspachers. One add for a motor says it has been specially made to suit eberspachers.

I've tested one of each and none of them fit ( the pump fits of course but delivers the wrong dose)
The 'specially made' motor has got a plug which suits eberspacher ecu but the pump will not fit into the eberspacher housing.

There used to be a 'report this item' on eBay but I can no longer see it. Can these adds be stopped?

I doubt that the ads can be stopped. As soon as eBay remove an ad or ban a user, another one will pop up.

If you go to your purchases in My Ebay you can contact the seller or open a dispute. You will probably find the seller refunds your money if you contact them, because they don't want to receive a black mark; eBay will probably side with you if you open a dispute.

eBay will probably only remove the listings if a seller or category gets a lot of disputes. In the past I've had no joy when trying to tell eBay that listings were dodgy.

When the Russio-chinospachers first appeared on the market, somebody in the trade ordered one, basically to find out if they could be used as a inexpensive source of spares to replace genuine Eberspacher items.
Dismantling proved that that the majority of components were all sufficently different to prevent use as spares.
Heaters were reassembled, put into sevice,still working well.

"Report this item" is still an option.. I see it in the main page of each item that I view. It should be there for you..

I left negative feed back for these items. The sellers have offered to refund the money if I remove it. I'm tempted to loose a bit of dosh if it helps others to avoid buying them.

Welcome to the world of grey goods. Unless you can track and the manufacturer can certify that a product is genuine then treat everything with suspicion.

My brother works in pharmaceuticals they test all raw materials from the top and bottom of the container because in the past they have been stung by some very naughty people, but got their own back and asked the very naughty people to deliver in person and sampled the shipment in front of them - the look of horror on the supplier was a sight to behold as the sampler turned the barrel over and sampled from the bottom!
