I cant find a single thread and very little info on the internet about this boat.

It seems to fit our needs Used under £500k, 3 cabins, love the kitchen up configuration and the tender launch system. Cant find anything else UK based that meets our needs.

Looking at two boats; £75k different. One with D11's and one with D9-575. We have the 575's at the moment, but in a boat 5 tonnes more , a bit concerned that there under powered. Ours in our targa 47 currently maxes at 35 knots, Ive read the D11 in the targa 50 maxes at 32 knots , so I'm thinking cruise is going to be slow on the D9.....Just cant find any articles, good reviews or anything to suggest performance or if they are even a good boat. Love the T47 but now need 3 bedrooms and don't see the point of a small jumpt to t52

Help

Help

I too have a T47 with D9 575 and am very pleased with performance and sea keeping, but after helping a delivery skipper pal move a T50 with D9 575
we where very unimpressed. The boat when new maxed out at 27 knots and with a seasons growth down to 22 knots. I think only a handful of the early T50,s had D9 before moving to D11.

Good luck with your search

cheers

Yeah - 31 knots for D11 - 670 hp as seen in many used examples BCUK have one + offering P-ex ? Asking £495K .
Brochure suggest 32 knots from a slightly more powerfully D11
http://www.fairline.com/images/boats/brochures/Fairline-Brochure-2015-EN-T50.pdf
At 18 tons dry -say 22-24 tons all up
So if you knock off 6 knots for real world ( mid season fouling , head sea , wind , dirty props etc )
Then a 575 Hp D9 in my view will struggle may be 28-6 = 22knot cruise or thrash it to 24/25 ,but you will be @ the wrong end of a steep L/hr fuel curve and unknowingly raised EGT curve .
Googled it ---- on review - one said CAT C12 715 hp --- but I think US mkt ? .

MAN do a R8 --- its 13L -but 800hp Like in a Portofino 53 ( std spec D12 or C12 arrond 715 hp .
Buts it a bigger boat 17 M
Also option of Arnesons in Pred version if you really want to improve your cruise to mid thirties .

What sort of real world cruise speed is the T 47 you have ? -

Wow got those calc,s spot on ----I was typing :)

Thats put pay to part of my plans for today , was going to go and view the d9 575 one. We cruise at 27/28 and max at 35 currently. And when your late and in a hurry back as we often are a little bit of extra speed helps!

I,ve just clicked arround VP
D11 670hp 1145 kg 2200 of something ? Torque
D13 800hp 1494 kg. 2989 "". " Torque

So for an extra what 350 kg x2 in a 20 ton boat --- it's a Pitty Fairline did not offer it ?
It's the torque figure I,am looking at even 2200 is marginal nearer 3000 means a bigger pitched prop ,or it will spin off a fouled prop .
Est max 38 /maybe 40 cruise 32 or easily 28 Eco and burn less fuel here than a D11 revving it's nuts off .
800 hp in a T50 --- please :) or north of 2500 torques?

the other aspect to think about is the T 50 provides great accommodation but it is a beamier boat and wont slip through the water as easily as T47
