Fairline targa 28

Hi all, I am looking at getting a Fairline targa 28, but the one I like looks like a 1992 model, with cupboards above the seating. and the aft cabin has 2 single mattress, but the main issue is that the boat I have seen, has 2 aq41 engines, all the others have seen online have v6 petrol or ad31 diesels.
I have tried to search online but I only come up with, no cupboards and only the 4 pot diesels, does anyone know more about the fairline targa 28. Thanks

What's your concern about the aq41 engines?

41 engines are reliable mules, and the correct power for the Targa 28/31. I would definitely want it with those engines!
She was also available with 42s.

There were two Fairline Targa 28 models. The 'original' Targa 28 launched around 1990 and was fairly soon rebadged (like a lot of boats at that time from all the main builders) to reflect the then new integral bathing platform (which was part of the hull moulding, rather than the bolt on slab that earlier boats had) to become the Targa 31. That boat did indeed get the twin AQAD 41 200hp engines.

The later Targa 28 came out about 1996 I think and was a smaller boat. That one had the twin AQAD 31 and KAD 32 engines. Both had petrol alternatives.

There are a lot more of the latter boat, hence you normally see Targa 28s with KAD 32 engines.

Just to add, the later Targa 28 is a great boat, but the earlier 28/31 boat was larger and arguably better finished, and a really lovely thing both to look at and to use.
