Fairline Squadron 42

I'm confused.

That SQ43 first have a white interior - it's maple wood surely?

I do remember tom having a look at an older phantom that had a white high gloss interior though.

Afaik the squadron was never supplied with a white gloss interior, only maple or cherry.

If you hate the wood, I spent some time in dusseldorf on a stand where a company were vinyl wrapping interiors. They had a mind boggling range if wood from Matt oak and walnut to high gloss cherry right through to some very German tiger stripe effects. They can also do very convincing leather, fabric and metal affects, that are really quite thick and feel like the real thing.

That aside, still dont see how this boat has a 'white' interior.

That sounds interesting. Got any more info, or a link? How did it look?

It looked really good.

They had samples on the stand and if I hadn't have known I would have struggled to say they were a wrap. Non of it felt like vinyl and the leather/fabric stuff was really impressive - it gad enough weight to be convincing.

I can't find the brochure now but I'll google. They were a Dutch company but they said they'd travel anywhere in Europe. They had an example of a big sunseeker where they'd done all the wood, the dash (in modern dark soft touch material) and most if the trim and they reckoned the cogs was around €10k inclusive.

These are the people

Very impressive stuff. It makes a lot of boats viable as you can bring the interior right up to date. Plus like a wrap in the hull it's all removable without damage.
