Does any one have a fairline phantom 48. I am looking at purchasing a boat in the 50 foot range and like this model. I saw it a a boat show recently but just one thing bothered me. I am fairly tall ( about 5'10" ) and sitting at the helm the front windscreen did'nt seem to be high enough. I sort of had to crouch down to get a good view out the front. The saleperson told me that once on the plan with the bow rising the visibility is good. However I do a lot of slow cruising 6 - 8 knots so would expect the bow to rise much, so my concern is does this windscreen being so low down cause any visibility problems, your coments would be appreciated.

You're far more likely to get a reply to this on the Motor Boat Forum. The salesman is correct that, once on the plane, the boat will adopt an angle of 5-7 degrees from the horizontal so the windscreen will be in a better position for you to see through but the only way to tell for sure is to take the boat for a seatrial before you sign on the dotted line. Fairline are usually pretty good when it comes to helm ergonomics and most of their helm seats have some adjustment in them
