Hi, I am new to boating and have a 1988 Fairline Mirage on the Norfolk Broads. The level switch on my shower tray pump seems to be faulty as the pump now runs continuously. I have located and removed the fuse but am now struggling to find the location of both the pump and the level switch which activates the pump. Any tips would be most welcome.

On my T36, there's a deceptively small fibreglass strum box that sits between the engines and houses the pump and float switch. Easily overlooked if you were looking for something bigger.
Should be easy to find by tracing the shower outlet hose to its termination?

The sump box , if there is one, probably needs a clean out which should be an easy fix.
I imagine floor panels outside the shower compartment lift out to reveal bilge/shower pumps.
If there is no sump/float switch the shower waste pump may be a type that intentionally runs while the switch is on .
Its a 32 years old boat so the arrangements may not be original.

Hi Merv, thanks for the tip. I finally managed to find it under the top step of the staircase going down to the galley. It needed nothing more than a clean up to get it working again.

It is not unknown for the pump to block up with hair. Level comes up, float switched on, pump runs , water does not drop.
I placed a small domestic sink grill over the outlet drain from the shower tray to collect hair and fluff
