Fairline Carrera Battery problems

Hi

I am having trouble with my battery connection and hoped that someone maybe able to help me.
I can start port engine off either battery. I can only start the starboard by holding down the battery crossover switch. If I try without it just sounds like the battery is flat but It is new and tested.
I have used both batteries on port side and both start the port engine and again the starboard via the crossover switch.

All connections are good so I am wondering if I am missing something simple.Any ideas as always greatly appreciated.

Hi Ric, if your boat is as old as mine I had to put a new coil on, I got it from a car spares in Woodley (auto factors)

Could it be the coil even though both engines work. Port directly and starboard if I press & hold down the battery cross over switch?

I think when you press the change over you are in fact giving it a bigger boot up the a**e, I might be wrong but you could send Volvo Paul a PM
