Fairing both top and bottom bumps

Bottom options:

  • Longboard until fiberglass is reached and it completely flat, eating away some of the glass

Hello,

I am failing both the top and bottom side with a long board and discovered that it is quite bumpy at the bottom.

Please ignore all the colours on topside - they're just West system pigment, topside is very flat now despite how it looks.

My question is about the bottom. Should I fill the gaps with west system on existing primer and fair with longboard

Or

Fair the bottom until I reach fiberglass, eating away the fiberglass bumps in the process

That sounds like a lot of hard work. There's a reason they call it the torture board! Even filling will need a lot of sanding.

Unless you're seriously into racing, I'd be inclined to get it tidy and go sailing.
