Fairey Huntress 23

Yes, she is lovely, the owner passed away sadly, a true gent and a proper Fairey man.

If I remember correctly she has a stern thruster too, handy as the Huntress can be a little tricky to park

Sadly as is often the case with Fairey boats, there is a big gap between owner expectation and what the market is likely to pay, even for exceptional craft like this one.

Have to agree with Ben, 50k is a lot of coin to pay for, albeit an as new boat, but who's going to pay that amount in this depressed market, when there are much more boat for less money available.

Someone's spent a lot of hours on that, so I can understand the reason for asking the price ... and it does look gorgeous! However, it's a singled engined 23ft boat with not much accommodation and the market is (very) depressed for classic wooden powerboats. Maybe there's an enthusiast out there and maybe Berthon is the right Broker to find them and do a deal. If they do they can have a go with my Settimo Velo when I eventually get it in commission.

any chance of photos/specs of LS Fairey then?

and a video with clear exhaust note on WOT?

or am I asking too much Paul?

:D

I reckon yours is the second fastest Fairey afloat, behind Miss Daisy.

Windermere was OK with 315 hp however in a bit of a swell off Dartmouth when racing a Sunseeker discovered a trait pretty much unknown in Fairey hull, chine riding... Confused seas at just over 40 knots chine can dig in and once rolled to what seemed like 45 degrees in a trice. 7 knots at idle in a crowded marina was a bit a white knucke ride as well!

Before I tamed her, my son learned all his boat handling skills on the unguided missile, when he went on his RNLI course at Poole they thought handling skills were self assured verging on agressive. Experience of a single screw Fairey which will go from dead in the water to on the plane in six seconds may may have led to him being selected crew member shaking down new designs.

270 hp de-rate and re-prop, now mid 30's and 5.5 knots at idle.

All yours for what you paid for Cascade all those years ago.....
