I did not know that these could be serviced. As a result I have just ordered a new furler. May I ask, --how did you get it apart because as far as I can determine, Facnor say they are unservicable?

Servicing these is really quite straightforward. The bearings are readily available and are held in just by large circlips.

I will have one for sale soon, complete with foil if the rigger gets it off carefully. About 11-12 M length

OK sounds like yours is a different model if it can't be refurbished. Disassembly of mine was fairly easy.

Actually they say that the sd 125 is unserviceble as well, so something is amiss. I have now found a sheet showing how they are made so I can see that it is possible. I think mine is the same model. It does work OK but one has to ease the halyard before furling. Also it is non adjustable in length & my new one can be adjusted at the forestay which I want. That is why I am changing at the same time that I am having a new rig.

I checked the size of my current furler and unfortunately this one doesn’t fit. It is a real bargain so I hope that it fits shortjohnsilver’….
