Facebook group 12 months on

well just over a year ago i set up the Boating UK facebook group, it was never meant to replace the forums just a quick and easy way to communicate instantly with boaters on the water and to let them know what is going on and where.

Its worked very well and there has been some good banter, pictures and useful information put on the page.

everyone that joins has their profile checked to ensure they have an interest in the water and if they dont then they are rejected to join and we have just under 1000 members from all over the UK.

Phil,
Well done with the Facebook page -a definite success. One of the things that my wife and I have talked about is how to connect with other families on the Solent or indeed anywhere else! Do you have any thoughts how we might do this? We had thought about posting on FB either love point for other families or planning a meet up rather like the usual form meets but focussed on families.
Suggestions welcome!

what a lot have done is to post a few days before to ask who is going to X and others who are going respond, ive met up with a few so far.
