Glad I'm not out there! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Need to check my boat has survived tomorrow night. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

will be nail biting and restless tonight, hope the mooring holds and i've secured everything when i was last onboard, will find out at weekend...

We can only wait and hope no major damage to our boats...

Yep....think we may get hammered here in SW Scotland about 0300. Winds gusting to 56hts in SW Wales at the moment...........Guess a few grandstands may be repositioned to north of Dublin later!!!!!!

Paul.

B I G, B I G rollers in Mounts Bay right now and big tide too, pushed up by the wind.

Interesting to see the boats at Gweek Quay, 3 miles inland, sitting up higher than usual when I was there earlier at about 5.00pm

Blowing a bit here in West Wales expecting the worst about 1 in the morning, luckily boat should be high & dry on the sand about then, we doubled up the mooring lines so with any luck she'll still be there in the morning. might be an early morning spin down to check. Best wishes to all on the other side of the Irish Sea.

Yes - I was on board my boat on its mooring in Burnham on sea today. Barometer dropped from 1004 at 1100hrs to 994 at 1600 hrs. Unfortunately I had to move at 1800 to another mooring, a fore and aft, across the wind direction. Made for an interesting half hour !

Re: Dunoon this evening

Seeing the photo of Dunoon pier reminds me of many years ago, being in danger of missing the last ferry from Dunoon, I got a bike lift to the end of the pier at a thousand mph, to see the boat some feet away and the prop thrashing the water. I heaved the rucksac aboard and took a flying leap to land safely on deck to the bemusement of crew and passengers. It hadn't yet docked!.

Oh yes, very, very worried, checked the strop at the weekend, worrying about not putting the second line on now, but I always worry about them twisting around each other and chafing... Self doubt's a bugger

Blowing 7/8 southerly at the moment here at Isle of Whithorn. Expecting worse after midnight. I'll probably go down at HW (midnightish) to see whats going on.
Cheers, Dave

Holy 5h1t it is 11 at the moment, whole house is shaking, anything outside not nailed down has gone. Rosslare ferries cancelled. I hope there are no boats or ferrys anywhere on the Irish sea right now. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Safe trip Silver Breeze - carefull towing

Spoke, to brother tonight....he is chief engineer on a commercial car ferry which goes between Ireland and Heysham; due to sail later tonight unless cancelled ?....he put the mobile phone to the window and you could hear the screaming wind.....I heard him shout to one of his colleagues "....my brother has checked the internet and it's an Extreme Force 11 tonight"; hope he is OK
Cheer
