but having asked in one chandlery, no luck so far - just what sort of paint do you use to stencil the boat name on stuff like lifebelts, hypolon and so forth? - it all feels a bit 'oily' for ordinary paint.

On Horse shoe, I had vinyl stickers made (at the same time as the boat stickers). 4th season, they are still there.

I used permanent laundry marker on the lifejackets and inflatables, but you could use rubberised roofing sealer paint.

A permanent marker should NEVER be used to mark a lifejacket. Some of the markers contain a chemical which degrades the fabric of the lifejacket over time.
