Aye, that looks entertaining! I avoided Eynhallow Sound on last year's Orkney trip - maybe not a bad decision!

OTOH I did go through Rousay Sound and gave myself a fright at the lack of depth compared to what was charted...

To those who haven't been, don't be put off. Orkney's a great place for sailing!

Now, phorum photographers, for real entertainment take yourself up onto the bluff overlooking Jack Sound at springs, to catch the yots that are just a little late.

You don't need to rush- they'll be there, waiting for you - fighting more and more uphill with every passing minute.....

Been there, done that, etc.

The deep water channel is not as wide as it appears in the photograph. I did not have it so rough but had an exhilarating passage through at 11 knots.
