Eye splice in double braid polyester rope , Both Ends

hello, im after changing my kicker system, does anyone know how to eye splice double braid each end ( maybe 2ft long ) , the problem seems on milking the second eye so you dont get a lump in the rope, thanks

My immediate reaction is to forget it - you'll never do two eye-splices with only 2 feet between them; there just isn't enough elasticity in the rope to allow it. I usually allow at least 2 METRES of rope before tying a knot to fix the sleeve and the inner together.

In a situation like this, I'd use sewn eyes, served over full-length.

• Sewn splices are fine. Little chafe, so just cover with heat shrink.
• Use Dyneema single braid. Two feet will be enough, particularly if you overlap the tail tapers. Dyneema is better on a kicker anyway.
