Interesting !!

Helm pushed right back and genoa furler nearly out the front of the boat !!

seems to sail nicely to windward - despite needing a reef in - what was the wind strength?

Bramble met for that day has an avg of 20-23 knots, gust of up to 28 knots it was the afternoon of 12/11/09 if you want to have a looksee yourself :)

+ 6 knots boat speed to windward makes the apparent avg 26-29 knots up to 34 knots

Oh and......

The video of the Contessa 32 is now up as well

Yup. Looks like a very slack lee shroud

It doesn't look as windy on this vid. Contessa looks solid though and not much healing considering the full sail - although I notice the main has been flattened off. The one easy comparison between the boats is space. Space in the cockpit in the bav is far more than in the con32. And at times it looked like the con32 crew were standing on rather than in the cockpit.

On the Co32 vid, is that the leeward shroud flapping about at 42-47 secs?

Well it doesn't do his boat speed any harm ;) In the berth they weren't bar tight (or should that be rod?), but they weren't slack either.

On the water they appeared, to me, to be very slack, if not too slack, but I think that goes to show I know nothing about the rig trim for a Contessa 32! :)

I know I wouldn't try having my shrouds that slack on our deck stepped Sadler, but the Contessa is keel stepped so at a guess you can get away with less tension
