I've heard that, we had to leave a few places to give us a reason to return!

I'm quite torn between basing Eos on the W coast of France or taking her down to the Med, I guess the best compromise will be to take a few years getting there to properly enjoy the many beautiful places on the way.

Actually, I have had a problem in northern Brittany with these automated fuel pumps in marinas..might be my lousy credit status ;) but only seemed able to get some minimal amount of fuel each time via credit card ? Is debit card better?

Yep debit work well but you need to get the Mariana offices to release the payment cap.
Brest, Benodet, Halliguen and Les sables are all easy for fuel fwiw.
 
Great video. Looks like you had a lovely time. Having only a small boat I shudder to think what your total fuel bill would be on a trip like that

Port Olona Piers, we stayed for around 4 days and cycled the area extensively. Very much looking forward to going back in May.

You're welcome. Southwards, we stayed in Quai Garnier which apart from the fishing boats going up and down 24hrs, is in the centre of town and really lovely. The HMs are great and will accpet a booking. A superb restaurant is on the doorstep called Le Clipper. Northwards, we stayed where yuou did. Much quieter, but a long way from the town.

Do try getting to Rochefort. In our books it's a special place. The trip up and down the river is a delight - but check your insurance covers you for going south of La Rochelle.

Quai Garnier would be better for the OP as its a bit of a hike to the town from Olona.
We got as far as anchoring off Ile d'aix on that trip. Rochefort is on our list, the river looks lovely but it looks like we will have to time it for tide.

Can't wait!

Timing for tide is crucial. Often the free flow lock gate is only open once a day for 30 mins. But there's a new 100m pontoon just before the marina to which you can moor. Anything other than springs should provide enough water. Otherwise, there are plenty of mooring buoys before reaching Rochefort. Again, call ahead and reserve.
 
I spent 5 months on the boat last year so:-
Heinz Salad Cream
Alpen
And, as you say, Marmite.

Also, do you have a means of testing the shore supplies.
Since our trip to Tunisia where we blew up about five grands worth of kit, I now ALWAYS test the shore supply before I plug in.
One of those multi testers that you can get for about £15 but I also have some easy connectors that my multimeter plugs into.
When you are visiting the smaller places, you may find that the shore electricity isn't well serviced.

That is quite useful ..very annoying, moor, up,get everything sorted, plug in...er.. no power..is that the boat or the socket...might save alot of frustration

We had no problems with shore power at any of the French marinas we visited.
