Look here, visited last year. I asked a gnarly old m'sieur what happens s'il vien vent du nord, he looked at me as if I was mad, "pas de probleme...". It all looks very exposed to me, there's nowhere to haul the boats out, it's Douarnenez one way, Pointe du Raz the other.

I guess it all depends on your definition of "vent du nord" - Beaufort combien? and "pas de probleme..."

I'm reminded of the time I went to Aumonville la Rogue in a force 6 easterly. It was so bumpy I used my anchor chain as a backup to my biggest pair of mooring lines to the buoy. Fortunately we weren't sleeping on board, because we wouldn't have slept.

I was intrigued by the seemingly exposed moorings along the coast W of Roscoff, but there is plenty of shoal ground outside...bit like Scilly, the big seas don't get in much, just very scuffly. (usually). This place in a good NW or NNW? ...but the boats are small and easy to hang on to. Not big enough to stand off.
